Camilos started through the American Government. Advertised as nothing more than a necessary part of their Military, the Government sought out willing participants. They drafted everyday citizens off of the street, luring them in with the promise of security for both themselves and their family. Their message was simple - Help Your Country.
They would try to hypnotize their masses into signing up. The messages flowed through the radio stations, played on their Television sets, and were texted to the cellphones of the nation's citizens. Many suited individuals would set up stands in popular locations, and they would stop individuals to "talk" to them about what their government "needed", and how they could help their government out. The messages leaned towards an almost threatening note, stating that every "fit" individual who didn't sign up lacked the patriotism needed to support their own nation.
They took the candidates far away, to a secluded Island. Here, they would have the individuals put to sleep, where they could operate on them via splicing their genes and graphing two creatures together, merging the once human citizens into hybrid beasts. They added in desired traits of several animals, and locked the test subjects up on the island, where they could study them.
Where would this lead? The hands that guided the concepts of their creatures would be the same hands that would train them in the future. They wouldn't trust the strange creatures they once created, however, and would merely watch from towers that stretched high into the skies, around the edges of the island. Where would this lead, though? What would become of their creations?
